Clark’s Hann Casino Resort unveils major expansion on Dec 12
Hann Philippines Inc will open the first floor of The Canyon at Hann Casino Resort in the Clark Freeport Zone, will on Friday (12 December) open the first floor of its major casino expansion known as The Canyon. The launch marks the first phase of a project announced on 15 November 2024 and is the most substantial upgrade to the resort’s gaming facilities since its rebranding from Widus Hotel and Casino in December 2021.
According to promoter Hann Philippines Inc., the new two-storey casino extension is inspired by rock formations and lush greenery within an atrium environment. The first floor will open to the public on Friday afternoon, while the second floor is scheduled to open next year.
The promoter stated that “The first-floor gaming area can accommodate up to 446 guests and will feature 584 slot machines and 34 table games.” The addition of more than 500 slot machines and dozens of gaming tables forms part of a broader plan to meet rising demand at Clark’s busiest periods. According to a GGRAsia report, current corporate data notes that the property already hosts 200 gaming tables and more than 1,000 slot machines across its existing floor.
In line with the resort’s integrated design, the new floor will debut “new dining concepts”, including “The Canyon Café and Winery”, which seats 52 guests, and “Three Woks”, a venue offering Korean, Chinese and Japanese cuisine with capacity for 148 diners.
Aristocrat Gaming has separately confirmed that it will supply over 270 new machines to The Canyon, including “new titles specific to the Philippines market”.
Expanded gaming floor to meet rising demand
Information previously gathered by gaming news platform IAG indicates that slot inventory at Hann Casino Resort will expand by around 50 percent and mass gaming tables by around 40 percent once The Canyon is fully operational. The expansion aligns with internal assessments of player volume and market growth.
“The idea was to create a larger, more dynamic main gaming floor,” said Dennis Andreaci, Senior Vice President of Casino Operations, in an interview earlier this year. “While there will be an exclusive, elegantly designed VIP area upstairs for a select clientele, the highlight is the expansive main floor. It’s a spacious, thoughtfully designed area featuring new concepts and a fresh aesthetic. We continuously push the boundaries of creativity to offer more for our guests, ensuring every visit provides a unique and elevated experience.”
Andreaci added, “When you look around the casino during peak periods, weekends and holidays, you can see that the gaming floor is very busy and the market is growing. We want to ensure that there is additional capacity for both table games and slot machines. This additional space not only introduces a new environment but enhances player comfort with a more spacious seating layout. It also gives us the opportunity to add in and experiment on additional games and test new games that are not yet here in the Philippines. With this large new floor space, we’ll be able to offer the public more choices for them to enjoy.”
Three new food and beverage venues will accompany the larger footprint. They include The Pearl, an Asian fine dining restaurant, Three Woks, and The Daily Grounds, described by the company as a global coffee and wine experience. As competition grows and interest in integrated resort gaming rises, more players are also turning to online options like the best casino sites for players, complementing the on-site experience The Canyon aims to enhance.
Integrated resort development enters next phase
The Canyon forms part of a wider expansion scheme that adds 22,113 square metres to Hann Casino Resort. The November 2024 announcement detailed 5,093 square metres dedicated to gaming, including a 3,590 square metre ground floor hosting over 60 gaming tables and more than 500 slot machines, and a 1,504 square metre second floor for private gaming and dining.
The 2024 briefing also outlined new dining concepts across both floors, including a speciality restaurant in the second-floor VIP area and a coffee and tea venue on the ground floor designed to evoke the Silk Road. This coffee and tea space is set to transition into a cocktail and wine lounge in the evening.
The first phase is planned for completion in the fourth quarter of 2025, while the full expansion is expected to be finalised in the first quarter of 2026. The expansion is being financed in part through a PHP 6 billion omnibus loan agreement signed on 12 November 2024 with Asia United Bank Corporation and Union Bank of the Philippines.

Next stages of Hann’s wider resort projects
Beyond its gaming growth, the wider Hann Resorts complex is progressing with the construction of an InterContinental hotel featuring around 350 rooms and a 640-room Novotel. In New Clark City, the company is also developing Hann Reserve. Its first facility, a golf course designed by former world number one Nick Faldo, is expected to open by February next year.
