SiGMA Group has formed a partnership with the International Masters of Gaming Law that will bring regulatory education and legal expertise to SiGMA Group’s expos around the world. The agreement kicks off at SiGMA Central Europe, taking place in Rome from November 3-6, 2025.

Gaming regulations are changing faster than ever. Operators need more than quick reflexes – they need deep knowledge, proper training, and insights from lawyers who work in gaming law every day. IMGL brings together more than 300 gaming lawyers, regulators, educators, executives, and advisors from across the globe. The non-profit group has earned recognition for its educational programmes, especially the IMGL Masterclasses that tackle actual regulatory challenges and help professionals understand new legal requirements. At SiGMA Central Europe, IMGL will support the development of panel discussions, provide expert content for conference sessions, and ensure that topics like compliance, licensing, and responsible gaming are tackled thoroughly with action-oriented solutions.

IMGL’s role at SiGMA Central Europe

IMGL’s participation features a masterclass titled “Practical Tools to Support Responsible Gambling and Player Protection,” led by Quirino Mancini, Partner at WH Partners Italy. The session takes place on November 6, the third day of conferences, at Stage 1 under the “Regulatory Briefing” theme. The discussion will focus on practical tools and solutions to advance a balanced, sustainable, and increasingly standardised regulatory framework for responsible gambling and player protection. Joining Mancini are key industry experts, including Reuben Portanier, Partner at GTG; Luis Portela de Carvalho, Partner at Lektou; and Ron Segev, Founding Partner at Segev LLP.

Why regulatory education matters right now

Italy’s iGaming market shows exactly why this partnership matters. Online gambling revenue there is expected to hit €3.78 billion by 2029. Right now, only 25% of Italy’s €16 billion total gambling revenue comes from online sources, which means massive room for growth. Operators moving into this space need to understand that regulatory compliance isn’t just about following the law; it’s what sets successful companies apart from their competitors. IMGL’s educational approach gives professionals the knowledge to stay ahead of regulatory changes and remain commercially focused while building strong compliance programmes.

This partnership also reflects what SiGMA Group wants its events to be: places where people learn and share knowledge, not just make deals. By bringing IMGL’s legal expertise into the conference programme, SiGMA Central Europe will give attendees practical guidance on licensing issues, anti-money laundering rules, responsible gambling policies, and new regulatory challenges across different countries.

As the industry gets ready for SiGMA Central Europe at Fiera Roma, the SiGMA Group and IMGL partnership make one thing clear: in a business that never stops changing, education is what makes long-term growth possible. IMGL’s involvement will raise the level of conversation at the event, turning Rome into more than just a place for business meetings; it’ll be a place where people advance their understanding of gaming regulations worldwide.
