The 2025 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Online Fall Series will, for the first time, operate with pooled liquidity across four US states: Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Previously, players could only compete within their own state. The new format allows for broader competition and larger prize pools. The series begins on 28 September with a no-limit hold’em tournament featuring a $300,000 guaranteed prize pool and concludes on 11 November. Winning a WSOP bracelet or circuit ring now involves competing against players from multiple states.

Expanded player pool to reshape tournament
Sepaking with SiGMA News, Christin Maschmann, a poker industry expert and content creator, shares her views on the poker’s ongoing evolution. She sees the newly introduced pooled liquidity across US states as a major turning point for online poker. Where previously isolated, single-state formats kept field sizes and prize pools limited, the unified pool opens the door to big events and richer payouts.
Maschmann stated, “Marquee events should comfortably surpass records, while broader payout structures will keep recreational players engaged. For players, this means more opportunities to turn modest buy-ins into six-figure scorers; for the industry, it re-establishes online poker as a truly national platform.”
Bridging online wins with live poker dreams
Maschmann highlights the significance of WSOP offering $5,000 WSOP Paradise packages to bracelet and circuit ring winners, noting this as a modern version of the “Moneymaker effect.”
Maschmann shared, “It’s a powerful marketing narrative that fuels participation by showing casual players that online victories can open doors to world-class live experiences. From a brand perspective, this integration strengthens WSOP’s position as the only operator that can seamlessly connect online and live poker. It’s a year-round ecosystem: online funnels into live, live success stories inspire new online signups, and the cycle continues. That cross-marketing not only grows the player pool but reinforces the WSOP as the definitive global stage for poker.”
