Camino Portuguese route completed: first SiGMA Foundation expedition supported by 1xBet
The SiGMA Foundation has successfully concluded its first-ever Camino de Santiago Portuguese Route Expedition, proudly supported by 1xBet. The initiative brought together 29 participants who walked over 100 kilometres in five days, combining endurance, solidarity, and purpose.
Why walk the Camino Portuguese Route?
For the Foundation, each expedition goes far beyond the challenge of the trail. Months of preparation saw participants not only train physically but also dedicate themselves to raising funds for upcoming projects that carry a tangible impact. This latest initiative continues SiGMA Foundation’s mission of linking adventure with meaningful humanitarian work.
The Portuguese Route marks a milestone as the first edition of this path undertaken by the Foundation. Participants walked with a shared commitment: to contribute to the construction of a three-classroom block kindergarten in Kasese, Uganda. Scheduled for inauguration in February 2026, the school will open its doors to 300 children, giving them access to early education and brighter opportunities.
Who benefits from the fundraising?
Fundraising from this journey, supported by 1xBet, will directly finance the Uganda kindergarten project, part of a wider network of initiatives that SiGMA Foundation has rolled out across multiple regions. In February 2026, the Foundation will also deliver four classrooms for the Kaffa Catholic Martyrs elementary school in Bonga, Ethiopia.
These efforts build on previous achievements such as the Baitawan Community Centre in the Philippines, Brazil’s Youth Empowerment Sports School, and Guatemala’s Ophthalmic Theatre, with projects so far touching the lives of 8,824 people worldwide.

This challenge, along with many others planned for the near future, will continue to raise funds and awareness for educational and community-driven projects in developing regions.
