Complimentary metro tickets and more: Your complete travel guide to SiGMA Central Europe

Written by Katy Micallef

SiGMA Central Europe is shaping up to be our biggest event yet, and we want you to make the most of every moment. We hear you – navigating a new city can be tricky, (try saying Fiumicino three times fast!) so we’ve mapped out all the best ways to get you where you need to be: stress-free and right on time for every SiGMA event

First things first, we want to get your trip off to a good start, so we’re handing out complimentary metro tickets. Look for yellow-vested SiGMA travel coordinators outside of the Fiera Roma halls. Tickets are limited, so grab yours early.

Getting to the Fiera Roma

fiera-roma-sigma

One of the largest expo venues in Europe, the Fiera Roma delivers a whopping 100,000 square metres of space, an ideal setting for SiGMA’s extensive agenda, which will take place for the first time across 4 conference stages. Whether you prefer the scenic route by train or the more private taxi option, there’s no shortage of options. Once there, head to the East Side Entrance.

By Train: Take the FL1 line to Fiera di Roma (from Tiburtina, Ostiense, Tuscolana, or Fiumicino Airport).
By Bus: ATAC lines 808, 089, 701, 701L and Cotral connections serve the fairgrounds.
By Taxi: Roughly 10 minutes from Fiumicino Airport or about 40 minutes from Rome city centre.
By Car: Exit 30 (GRA) toward Fiumicino, with over 8,000 parking spaces available.

SiGMA Shuttle Buses

From 04 to 06 November, thirty dedicated shuttle buses will provide complimentary transport to the venue. Find them lined up outside the venue with meeting point totems. This initiative is supported by NowPayments.

The shuttle will take three different routes:

Departing every 15 minutes from each designated city pick-up point, the shuttle buses run from :

8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (City Center → Fiera Roma)
3:30 PM – 7:00 PM (Fiera Roma → City Center)

Route 1: Lungotevere Marzio → Viale Luigi Einaudi → Viale Trastevere 80 → Hotel IBIS (parking slot) → Fiera Roma
Route 2:Villa Zaccardi → H10 Portuense (parking slot) → B&B Fiumicino → Fiera Roma
Route 3: Metro Laurentina → Palazzo dello Sport → Holiday Inn (parking slot) → Marriott Park → Fiera Roma

Leaving the Fiera Roma

If you’re not taking a bus or taxi directly to your end destination, the easiest (and cheapest) option is to take the train from the Fiera Roma to the city centre and then carry on by metro, bus or taxi.  FL1 Regional train tickets are just €1.00.  Board the FL1 Regional Train (direction Orte or Fara Sabina) from Fiera di Roma and get off at Ostiense. Cross over the walkway to Piramide Station and use your complimentary SiGMA Metro Train Ticket to continue on any Metro line toward your destination.

For  public buses: the closest bus stop is Eiffel / Fiera di Roma – both within a short walking distance.

ATAC Bus Lines: 808, 089, 701, and 701L.

COTRAL Bus Lines: Stops F11043, F11044, and 4596.

Reputable taxi apps include Uber, FREENOW, itTaxi, and appTaxi.

Top Tip: Pick up a Metro Map at Pre-Registration or from any of our travel coordinators at the venue and download the Travel Planning App: Download the Moovit App to navigate public transit locally with real-time updates once you’re in a city.
