NODWIN pushes esports expansion in India with new ties
NODWIN Gaming has partnered with SARC Global to support the development of India’s esports sector. It has also signed an agreement with the International Games and Esports Tribunal (IGET) to enable independent dispute resolution for its tournaments and sponsorships. The partnership was formalised at the Global Esports Industry Week 2025 in Austin, Texas. It aims to go beyond organising competitions and focuses on building a long-term framework in which government bodies, commercial entities, and gaming communities collaborate to support the advancement of esports in the country.
NODWIN’s strategic partnership
The partnership intends to increase esports participation through organised competitions, generate income from NODWIN’s intellectual properties through financial and sponsorship channels, and assist in the creation of policies that will allow the industry to grow over the long term. The goal of involving the public and private sectors is to increase the events’ visibility and accessibility for a larger group of people.
Under the IGET framework, disputes related to contracts, sponsorships, intellectual property, and conduct will be managed through formal procedures. This structure is designed to maintain transparency and accountability within esports operations.
NODWIN Gaming CEO Gautam Singh Virk highlighted the importance of integrating policy with competitive gaming to support long-term sector growth. He stated, “This partnership is an important step towards unlocking the true potential of esports in India. What we’re trying to do here is bridge the world of competitive gaming with the business and policy frameworks that will allow it to thrive in the long run.”
Policy advocacy and government engagement
SARC Global is involved in policy advocacy and works with both state and central government authorities to support the development of esports. The objective is to contribute to a regulatory framework that enables structured growth of the sector. Such policies may assist in attracting investment and improving infrastructure related to digital gaming.
By using sponsorship arrangements, financial support, and shared revenue structures, the initiative seeks to generate consistent income from gaming-related intellectual properties. This approach is intended to provide financial support for participants, teams, and event organisers.
Pro-gaming policies in India
States in India have started taking action to support the esports industry. A digital gaming policy has been introduced by Maharashtra with the intention of offering a framework for the growth of the industry. Bihar and Rajasthan are contemplating regulatory strategies aimed at promoting investment and generating prospects in the industry. These changes show that esports is becoming more widely recognised as a legitimate enterprise.
Rajendra Bagade, Senior Partner at SARC Global, highlighted the role of government in advancing digital gaming through guidance, collaboration, and investment. He noted, “The Maharashtra state government has recently announced a policy to promote and foster digital gaming, giving this emergent sector strong tailwinds.”
Esports and India’s digital vision
The partnership supports the broader objectives of India’s digital development plans, which emphasise the role of technology in national progress. Esports is viewed as a sector with potential to contribute to employment, business activity, and international engagement.
Sunil Kumar Gupta, Chairman of SARC Global, stated that the partnership aims to establish a structured framework aligned with national development objectives. He stated, “The collaboration will create new commercial opportunities for esports and help in building a sustainable ecosystem, aligned with the goal of PM Narendra Modi towards Viksit Bharat.”
Commercial opportunities in Esports
The FICCI-EY 2025 report indicates that brand involvement in esports is projected to increase from 68 percent in 2024 to 75 percent in 2025. Contributing factors include the expansion of tournaments, the release of new gaming titles, and increased engagement among younger audiences.
An official regulatory framework for the sector is introduced by the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025. The creation of a central regulatory body, assistance with infrastructure development, and safeguards for younger participants are some of the important clauses. The esports industry now has more clarity and recognition thanks to these regulations.
Outlook for esports in India
India’s esports ecosystem, which has been moulded by organisational collaboration and regulatory initiatives, could be a template for other developing nations. The strategy supports sector development by integrating community, business, and regulatory input.
The industry is projected to receive more investment, increased government participation, and a rise in player numbers. Continued activity in gaming and content production is expected, with the SARC Global and NODWIN Gaming partnership contributing to the sector’s structural growth.
