NOVOMATIC Italia has published “Our ESG Journey: 2025 Report”, presenting the group’s main environmental, social, and governance results over the past year.
Now in its fourth edition, the report explains how NOVOMATIC Italia is integrating ESG principles into its day-to-day management. Its central theme is the group’s commitment to long-term growth without separating financial performance from innovation, its focus on people, and its relationship with the local communities in which it operates.
In 2025, NOVOMATIC Italia consolidated its presence in Italy’s regulated public gambling sector, contributing more than €1.03 billion to state revenue. The group operates across several segments of the supply chain, from the production and management of gaming technologies to retail operations, digital services, and payment systems.
Responsible gambling and customer protection
One of the key themes of the report is the principle of “Winning Responsibly”, which guides the group’s approach to responsibility in the gambling sector. Throughout the year, the group continued to invest in training, certification and tools designed to protect players.
Five group companies are certified under the international G4 standard, which is intended for operators that adopt specific measures to prevent problem gambling and protect consumers. More than 2,500 people also took part in dedicated training programmes, completing a total of more than 4,300 hours.
Energy, regeneration, and impact reduction
On the environmental front, NOVOMATIC Italia has continued its “Green Evolution” programme, which focuses on energy efficiency, emissions monitoring and a more responsible use of resources. In 2025, the group’s total energy consumption exceeded 61,000 MWh. At the same time, the proportion of energy generated from renewable sources increased, and new solar power systems were installed at the Rome and Rimini sites.
Another significant figure relates to the circular economy: in 2025, NOVOMATIC Italia refurbished 98 per cent of its gaming machines. This approach extends the useful life of the machines, enables the recovery of components that are still usable, and reduces both waste and the use of new raw materials.
More than 4,400 people across the group
The social section confirms the role of people in NOVOMATIC Italia’s strategy. The workforce comprises more than 4,400 employees, 86.5 per cent of whom are employed on permanent contracts. In 2025, the group provided more than 62,000 hours of employee training. Alongside professional courses, initiatives focused on wellbeing, skills development, gender equality, and inclusion also continued. These include NOVOWELL, a programme designed to support health and improve quality of life at work.
NOVOMATIC Italia has also worked to strengthen its internal controls, compliance, and risk management, with a particular focus on cyber security and keeping its digital systems running without disruption. The report outlines the progress made so far and the company’s priorities for the years ahead. It says future growth will depend on innovation, security, and responsibility, especially as the iGaming sector continues to develop rapidly.
