South Korean casino operator Paradise Co Ltd has appointed Lim Jun-shin as co-chief executive officer, strengthening its top leadership structure. The decision follows approval at a general meeting of shareholders and the board of directors, according to a filing with the Korea Exchange.

New co-CEO joins existing leadership

Lim Jun-shin will serve alongside Choi Jong-hwan, who had previously been designated as chief executive and will now formally hold the title of co-CEO. The company did not disclose the reason behind the move to a dual leadership structure in its regulatory filing.

Before this appointment, Lim held the role of chief operating officer across key properties, including Paradise Walkerhill Casino in Seoul and the group’s casino operations in Busan and Jeju. His promotion places an operations-focused executive at the top level of the company.

Strong operational background

Lim Jun-shin brings extensive operational experience within the group. According to the filing, he served in a senior management role at Paradise City between 2021 and 2025. Paradise City is a major integrated resort in Incheon, operated through Paradise SegaSammy Co Ltd, a joint venture between Sega Sammy Holdings Inc and Paradise Co.

His experience across multiple properties and management roles is expected to support the company’s casino operations, which cater exclusively to foreign visitors under South Korean regulations.

Continuity with Choi Jong-hwan

Choi Jong-hwan has been part of Paradise Co’s leadership since March 2024, when he was first appointed as co-CEO. Prior to that, he served as president and chief executive of Paradise SegaSammy, where he oversaw the Paradise City resort.

His continued presence as co-CEO provides continuity in leadership, particularly in managing the company’s integrated resort operations and partnerships.

Portfolio of foreigner-only casinos

Paradise Co directly operates three foreigner-only casino venues in South Korea. These include the Walkerhill property in Seoul, Paradise Jeju on Jeju Island, and a casino in the port city of Busan. The company is one of the leading operators in the country’s foreigner-only casino segment, which is regulated separately from domestic gaming.

The Paradise City resort in Incheon, although not directly operated by Paradise Co, remains a key asset through its joint venture structure.

No details on strategic shift

The Korea Exchange filing did not provide further details on whether the co-CEO structure signals a broader strategic shift. The company also did not outline any changes to its operational or expansion plans.

The appointment comes at a time when casino operators in South Korea continue to focus on international tourism recovery and operational efficiency across key destinations such as Seoul, Jeju, and Busan.

With Lim Jun-shin stepping into the co-CEO role, Paradise Co has reinforced its leadership team with a mix of operational expertise and executive experience.

Casino sales rise nearly 10% in 2025

In January, Paradise Co Ltd reported a solid increase in casino sales in 2025, supported by higher table game and slot machine revenue across its foreigner-only casinos in South Korea. The operator said total casino sales rose 9.9 percent year on year, reflecting a steady recovery in international tourism and sustained demand from key overseas markets.

According to a regulatory filing, Paradise Co generated total casino sales of KRW900.5 billion, equivalent to $623.6 million, for the full year of 2025. This compared with KRW819.6 billion, or $567.2 million, recorded in 2024.
