Ugandan regulator endorses SiGMA World 2026 Summit in Rome
The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) for Uganda has announced its endorsement of the upcoming SiGMA World Summit 2026, taking place in Rome. The summit is set to occur between 2-5 November. It affirms it as one of the most significant international venues for the global regulated gaming and technology ecosystem.
The official letter was issued on 27th April, 2026, and was addressed to Lucy Vivi Mwendwa, the Head of International & Government Relations at SiGMA Africa.
Strategic alignment with regulatory vision
The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board’s endorsement confirms a good fit between the regulatory goals of Uganda and those of SiGMA on a global basis. The NLGRB stated that SiGMA World is an important collaboration for convening representatives from the gaming industry, government officials, and technology developers.
Uganda has been part of the broader African gaming marketplace and continues to strengthen its regulatory framework as it experiences increased digitalisation and cross-border expansion in this industry. Therefore, the endorsement demonstrates that Uganda’s regulatory board would like to engage more actively in international dialogue and to increase the exchange of ideas.
