On 3 February, Betsson presented its financial results for 2025. The leading operator announced an 8% increase in total revenue for 2025 to €1.2 billion, driven by growth from casinos and sports betting. A 1% decline in revenue in the fourth quarter did not affect overall performance, as the casino showed a 3% increase in revenue to €219.8 million.

At the end of the year, the number of active accounts across all Betsson products grew by 5% to 1,409,929. The registered customer base increased by 6% to 31.1 million. Sports betting revenue in the last quarter decreased by 9% to €82.7 million, while poker and bingo revenue amounted to €1.4 million, representing 1% of total revenue.

CEECA remains the most profitable region

According to Betsson President and CEO Pontus Lindvall (pictured), growth in Western Europe and Latin America continued, while Northern Europe and the CEECA region showed a slowdown. “B2C revenue continued to grow thanks to successful investments in product and marketing, while B2B revenue was lower than last year, mainly due to one B2B customer,” Lindvall noted.

According to Lindvall, the share of revenue from operators with local licenses reached a record 68%, which increased the tax burden on the gambling business. In addition, investments in product and technology organisation increased personnel expenses, which affected the quarter’s profitability.

Nevertheless, according to Lindvall, Betsson remains an operationally strong company with a competitive product offering and growing brand awareness. The company’s annual report confirms this position.

Betsson’s regional performance

Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia (CEECA) remained the most profitable region for Betsson in the fourth quarter, despite a 9% decline in revenue to €120.4 million. The decrease is attributable to a drop in betting activity in Estonia and Georgia. However, this was partially offset by growth in Croatia and Greece, where, according to the Blask Index, the company’s annual growth was 26.7%.

Latin America showed an 8% increase in revenue to €84.3 million, thanks to the expansion of the casino segment in Peru, Argentina, and Colombia. Blask’s analytics confirm the operator’s leadership in Argentina, Peru, and Italy.

Revenue from Western Europe grew by 15.5% to €60.8 million at the end of the year. Italy showed record growth, France posted gains, and Belgium declined. Revenue in Northern Europe fell by 16% to €33.6 million: expansion in Sweden was offset by a decrease in Denmark. The “rest of the world” contributed €4.7 million.

Overall, the company’s share of GGR from locally regulated markets grew by 13% to €205.7 million and accounted for a record 67.7% of annual GGR (Q4 2024: 59.5%).

Outlook for 2026

Betsson’s daily revenue in the first three months of 2026 (as of 3 February) was 0.6% higher than in the same period of the previous year. Management expects that several planned events and the upcoming World Cup will help attract even more new customers.

When it comes to the company’s strategy for 2026, it will keep investing in products and technologies like mobile UX, personalisation, and analytics-based CRM. The team plans to enhance operational efficiency by using technology and hiring the right people. Marketing will focus on major sporting events and local promotional campaigns in key regions. In this way, the company is strengthening its presence in locally regulated markets and adapting its operations to regulatory requirements.

The product plan includes the development of live betting, casino, and selective B2B expansion. The company will strengthen partnerships, payment infrastructure, and anti-fraud measures. The strategy is aimed at growing the active base, increasing LTV, and creating long-term value for shareholders.
