Yggdrasil reinforces presence in South Africa with SportyBet and Play.co.za launches

Malta-based iGaming supplier Yggdrasil announced a double launch, with operators SportyBet and Play.co.za getting access to a portfolio of established Yggdrasil titles.

The operators also got access to content from studios in the YGGMasters Program, adding over 100 games in total to their libraries.

Yggdrasil stated that these partnerships come at a time of “strong momentum” for South Africa’s iGaming sector.

It continued that, according to the National Gambling Board, the market generated over €75 billion in turnover during the 2024/25 financial year, “reinforcing its status as a key regulated market for suppliers looking to scale across the continent.”

Regional Manager Giovanni Fodera said that South Africa is a strategically important market for Yggdrasil. He added that such partnerships enhance the company’s regional presence “and reflect the strong momentum we are building across Africa.”

Stakelogic Sales Manager Alessandro Sorci said that there is a “real sense of intent behind Stake’s arrival in Denmark,” which he said makes this an exciting partnership for the supplier.

“Launching our full slot portfolio with the brand means players can experience the range we have built at Stakelogic, from more recognisable series to releases with a very different visual identity and tone,” Sorci commented.

Stake Denmark Managing Director Peter Eugen Clausen said that entering Denmark was an important step for Stake. He said that, as Stake continues to establish the brand locally, “it is important that the casino experience has real depth from the beginning.”

3et said that its product has been developed with “a more value-driven audience in mind,” which it said has helped the brand build credibility with experienced bettors over many years. It said that it believes the same formula will resonate strongly in Ireland.

Marketing Manager Micheál Deasy said that the operator is very excited about the launch in Ireland, and commented that 3et stands out when it comes to giving “sharp odds and proper limits without all the noise.”

The operator remarked that this comes at a key moment in the sporting calendar, noting that the Premier League season is headed into the final stages, and with the 2026 World Cup coming in the summer.
