In a recent interview with SiGMA, Josmar Diaz, Sales Manager at Slot Matrix, shared her journey within EveryMatrix and reflected on the growing opportunities in Latin America’s online gaming industry. With more than six years in the company, Diaz has witnessed its transformation firsthand and is now playing a leading role in developing one of its newest business units.

From junior sales to senior leadership

Diaz began her career at EveryMatrix when the company was much smaller.  “So I’ve been in EveryMatrix for the past six years and a half. I actually started very young. I was in my twenties when I started as a junior sales, and currently I’m a senior sales manager, focusing mostly in Latin America,” she explained.

Her move to Slot Matrix marks an exciting new phase. “Previously working for the full group and recently moved to Slots Matrix to help out with the development of the new business unit, which is actually very exciting,” Diaz added.

For her, the rapid growth of EveryMatrix has been inspiring. “When I started in EveryMatrix, we were around 250 people. Right now, we are over 1,300 people. So being part of a new side of EveryMatrix that can develop as big, and being part of a team that is new, it comes fresh with a lot of ideas and where you can actually put your piece,” she said.

Latin America’s rising market

Diaz sees Latin America as one of the most exciting regions for online gaming today. “There is a lot happening there and everybody wants to go there. It is kind of a new market for everyone, and this is not only about traditional online casinos, but it also affects the state lotteries, which are also looking forward to grow much bigger in the online side of it,” she noted.

Although the region still lags behind Europe in technology adoption, Diaz views this as an opportunity. “We could say that in Latin America we are a little bit behind on all the technology regarding the online casinos, online sportsbook, and so on. So it comes with this same excitement of bringing things that are new, that brings much more power to the market.”

Regulation and expansion

For Diaz, regulation is the key factor driving growth. “This comes also with the regulation, because it makes it more appealing for all the operators and vendors to invest in this new market,” she explained.

She highlighted Brazil as one of the most promising countries. “Brazil, yes, it’s super exciting. It’s been going on with the regulation for a couple of years,” she said. At the same time, Peru, Colombia and Chile are also central to Slot Matrix’s strategy.

“Peru is also one of our main markets at the moment that we are pursuing. We have some big clients in Peru as well. We also have some nice clients in Colombia and, well, we are fully up to the regulated markets in LatAm. And yes, thanks for mentioning Chile. Chile actually, the regulation is coming up very soon,” she added.

Beyond these markets, Diaz pointed out the broader regional trend, “We had some gatherings with the state lotteries and the regulators from Chile, Salvador, and some other countries in Latin America. And the regulation will come soon, so it’s a big opening of the full continent in general.”

As a Latin American herself, Diaz is especially proud to witness the region’s progress. “It’s very exciting for a Latin American person as myself, which has been working so long in Europe. So it’s very nice to see that Latin America is also coming into this big wave of online casinos,” she reflected.

Markets for the future

With Slot Matrix’s expertise and EveryMatrix’s global experience, Diaz is confident the company is well-positioned for success. “Thanks to all the efforts that EveryMatrix has been putting in in new markets for a long time already, we are very well prepared to enter the markets,” she said.

Her career path, from junior sales to senior leadership, mirrors the broader growth of both her company and the Latin American gaming industry, fast-moving, full of opportunities and shaped by innovation.
