The Brazilian iGaming market has shown how strong themed slots have been lately, especially those featuring luck, animals, and dragons. These titles continue to lead the main screens of the platforms. However, a new trend has also stood out: the growth of hybrid-format games, which mix elements of crash, slots, and social interactivity.
According to the report Growth dynamics of hybrid-format iGaming titles, Brazil is still experimenting and living in an early stage in this segment, but with clear signs of great potential. The current share is small, around 0.02% of Share of Interest (SOI), but the annual growth is impressive, with an increase of around 17,000% and a positive monthly rise of 57%. The market is still small, but the potential is enormous.
The role of Pix and the boost from mobile players
One of the main reasons for this advance is Pix, which simplifies the player entry process and boosts first deposit conversions. In the acquisition funnel, Pix reduces several barriers the player might face and makes the experience smoother, especially for the audience playing via mobile. Data show that entry packages between R$3 and R$10 work well, along with low limits in the first sessions. Simple pages and short tutorials (with entry time under 60 seconds) increase the chances of turning a simple curiosity click into a real first game session.
Despite the growth of hybrids, traditional slots are still the majority in Brazil. Titles with animal and luck themes lead, representing about 36% of Share of Interest (SOI). The “rabbits” and “dragons” series sum up, respectively, 17% and 7%.
The franchises Sweet Bonanza, Gates of Olympus, and Big Bass Bonanza have a stable market share (1% to 3% SOI), with the “×1000” versions being the most popular for offering win multipliers and attracting many players.
In the crash segment, the main games have about 2.5% SOI, and the secondary ones between 0.2% and 0.7%, which means a stable but small presence. Live games and game shows always appear among the top 20 most played, with 0.3% to 2.4% SOI.
Chicken Road
An interesting case is Chicken Road 2.0, which shows how a hybrid game can gain space in the Brazilian market. According to the report, the title is present in 30 brands, appears in 9 lobbies, and is on 49 storefront pages.
The game shows an average visibility per lobby (Avg Lobby GVR) of 12.1 and a general average visibility (Avg GVR) of 23.6. This rate is already comparable to traditional slot games. The challenge now is to maintain this level of exposure and convert it into interest growth. The report suggests strategies such as banners localised in Portuguese (pt-BR), Pix offers, and partnerships with Brazilian influencers, measures that help turn quantitative presence into real brand recognition.
The sector is full of opportunities, but still requires care. The hybrid market starts from a small base, which means growth numbers can seem high by comparison. To validate the trend, it is necessary to maintain consistent growth for at least four weeks and expand the number of lobbies and pages where the game appears. Another challenge is competition for first screens, dominated by slots from large providers. In addition, banking integrations and compliance rules may affect Pix flow stability during peak periods.
90-day plan: how to consolidate presence
The report proposes a simple short-term action plan:
- Storefront goal: Ensure presence in crash carousels of major operators and maintain an average visibility of up to 20 points (Avg Lobby GVR ≤ 20).
- Content and creatives: Produce banners in Portuguese, visuals with football themes, and short tutorials of 10 to 20 seconds, ideal for social media.
- Offers and payments: Create entry packages between R$3 and R$10, with bonuses respecting local rules.
- Performance measurement: Monitor consistent growth of interest (SOI) and a gradual reduction in average visibility (GVR) for at least four weeks, along with an increase in the number of lobbies and pages.
To reach Brazilian players, short and localised content is the way. Quick videos in reels or shorts format, combined with simple and direct pages, ensure efficiency in the conversion process.
In Brazil, social media usage is enormous and exceeds the average of many other countries. Platforms such as WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook are part of the daily life of a large portion of the population, who spend hours browsing, interacting, and consuming content daily. Compared to countries in Europe and North America, Brazilians are among the most active, with a high frequency of posts, comments, and shares.
The use of Pix as the main payment method, low-value offers, and campaigns with local influencers reinforces the feeling of familiarity, which is essential for the audience to try new formats such as hybrids.
