Marina Ilina, CEO and Founder of RedCore, has transformed iGaming-focused holding into a diversified business group. Speaking at the previous SiGMA Central Europe 2025 in Rome, where RedCore served as main sponsor, Ilina outlined the business group’s strategic expansion and its approach to tackling complex regulatory challenges whilst pursuing internal product development.
Business evolution beyond iGaming
RedCore’s expansion was not initially planned as a corporate strategy. “We didn’t want to make a big group at the beginning, but now we have a big expertise inside our group,” Ilina explained. recognised that its internal capabilities could generate a significant market impact, leading to the development of multiple B2B products. Each business unit operates under separate leadership, allowing teams to respond directly to market demands whilst RedCore provides resources to accelerate growth and profitability. “At RedCore, we give them an opportunity to make it faster, larger and make more profit,” she noted.
Regulatory barriers and market clarity
The sector has emerged as a critical area for RedCore’s operations. Ilina described the necessity of bridging communication gaps between gaming companies and government entities. “All of the gaming companies face the necessity to understand how the market works and to have normal talks with the government, and the government itself needs to understand how the sphere works,” she said. RedCore positions itself as an intermediary that facilitates clearer dialogue and helps establish transparent market conditions for both regulators and operators.
Technology as instrument, not objective
When discussing artificial intelligence, Ilina offered a measured perspective. “AI is not about the goal; it’s like one of the instruments for achieving the goal,” she stated. RedCore currently uses AI in analytics, anti-fraud systems, and prediction tools, though Ilina emphasised that multiple pathways exist to reach business objectives. Looking ahead, she indicated that RedCore’s investment division actively scouts emerging technologies and new companies, remaining open to future innovations that may reshape the industry.
