In a sector known for high turnover and short lifespans, WinDrawWin and Predict.com have bucked the trend. Behind these enduring football prediction platforms is Mathew Symmonds, Director and Founder of Web Analysis Solutions Limited. With over 22 years of experience in the affiliate marketing space, Symmonds has successfully kept its brands relevant, profitable, and fiercely independent.
In this exclusive interview, Symmonds shares how strong branding, lean operations and global expansion strategies have sustained the company’s growth in an increasingly competitive and AI-influenced market.
Brand loyalty in the age of AI search
As search engines shift toward AI-driven answers, affiliate businesses that rely on traditional SEO strategies are under threat. Symmonds argues that brand strength is now more critical than ever.
“Over 50% of our traffic comes from branded search,” he reveals, a figure well above the industry average. This means that users are actively searching for ‘WinDrawWin’ or ‘Predict’—not just generic keywords. “That gives us a massive advantage,” he adds, explaining that this kind of recognition helps future-proof the business against diminishing click-through rates on search.
From side project to global presence
Symmonds originally launched WinDrawWin as a passion project. “It was a hobby,” he admits. “I coded up a few website ideas back in the early 2000s before any bookies went online.” What started as a niche site for football predictions evolved into one of the most respected names in sports analytics, serving users from almost every country in the world.
Today, the company operates with a lean structure, leveraging automation and technology to stay agile. “We only do things that add to the bottom line or make us more sustainable,” he explains. Despite not being backed by a large team or primary corporate parent, Web Analysis Solutions has held its ground in a rapidly consolidating market.
Standing out in a crowded space
Symmonds attributes the company’s staying power to its product-first approach. “There are thousands of football tipsters out there, but not many offer what we do,” he says. For instance, users can create custom bets directly on WinDrawWin before being redirected to a bookmaker. Unlike paywalled competitors, their content remains entirely free of charge.
“Trust and loyalty are everything in this space,” he stresses, especially in a world where AI-generated content is eroding credibility. “If your visitors don’t trust your predictions or stats, they won’t return.”
Emerging markets and localisation
Web Analysis Solutions has also placed a strategic focus on international growth. Africa, which now accounts for 60% of their traffic, has long been a football-hungry market. The UK and US remain strong, and Brazil is quickly catching up. “We’ve localised the site in Brazilian Portuguese and Spanish and launched a dedicated US version,” says Symmonds. This multilingual expansion enables the business to diversify its traffic sources and reduce its dependence on any single region.
Surviving consolidation and thriving as an independent
Despite industry consolidation, Symmonds has remained independent, steering clear of mergers and acquisitions. “We’ve seen a lot of companies come and go. We’re proud to be one of the last independents still,” he says. But he’s under no illusion that legacy alone guarantees survival. “Being first to market helps, but it’s your product that keeps people loyal.”
Looking ahead, the company plans to remain nimble, double down on brand trust, and continue localising its offerings. For Symmonds, the formula is clear: invest in a quality product, build a loyal user base, and stay laser-focused on long-term sustainability.
