Hollywood.com is teaming up with Crypto.com to bring prediction markets to the world of entertainment. The Florida-based media platform announced on November 3 (Monday) the launch of a new entertainment-themed prediction market, powered by Crypto.com | Derivatives North America, a Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC)-registered exchange and clearinghouse.
The collaboration would allow users to legally exchange event contracts for things like music charts, video games, award shows, Broadway performances, Hollywood movies, TV series and even celebrity moments. The platform, available directly via Hollywood.com, will feature real-time pricing and operate within a fully federally compliant trading environment.
“The success of prediction markets demonstrates the massive appetite for trading on the outcome of future events—and now Hollywood.com is bringing that innovation to entertainment’s biggest stage.”
– Mitchell Rubenstein, Co-CEO of Hollywood.com
“As prediction markets continue to grow and be part of a customer’s trading and investment strategy, we are excited to partner with a leading entertainment media property to offer customers a new way to engage with their favourite content,” said Travis McGhee, Managing Director and Global Head of Capital Markets at Crypto.com. “Entertainment fans are some of the most passionate consumers, and we look forward to providing them with a legal, trusted platform tailored to their interests.”
Prediction market expansion beyond sports and politics
The announcement follows a surge of new entrants into the prediction market space. Recently, Donald Trump’s Truth Social revealed its own partnership with Crypto.com, while Underdog became the first sportsbook operator to offer sports event contracts in September.
Until now, the sector has largely been dominated by Polymarket and Kalshi, but this latest collaboration signals a more diversified and entertainment-driven future for prediction trading.
Describing the launch as “a revolution in fan engagement,” Mitchell Rubenstein, Co-CEO of Hollywood.com, said: “Imagine predicting reality show and award show winners, or whether a musical artist will reach #1 on the charts. This isn’t about sports or politics—it’s pure entertainment. We’re giving fans a voice in predicting the moments that define pop culture.”
The entertainment event contracts will be offered exclusively by Crypto.com | Derivatives North America and promoted across Hollywood.com’s media channels, marking a major convergence between regulated financial trading and digital entertainment.
Creating a new hybrid space for fans
With prediction markets increasingly viewed as both financial tools and social experiences, the partnership aims to establish a new hybrid ecosystem where Hollywood fans can trade on the trends shaping their favourite industries, from red carpets to reality TV finales.
This move also strengthens Crypto.com’s position in the expanding U.S. prediction market landscape, diversifying its offerings beyond traditional finance and sports.
Crypto.com suspends sports prediction market in Nevada
In separate news, Crypto.com announced that it will suspend its sports prediction market operations in Nevada following a federal court ruling. The company reached an agreement with the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) to halt these activities while pursuing an appeal.
The NGCB confirmed that the platform will stop offering sports event contracts to Nevada residents after November 3, 2025, and will remain inactive until the legal process is resolved.
The decision follows a Nevada judge’s denial of Crypto.com’s request for a preliminary injunction against the NGCB, a ruling that contrasts with an earlier court decision in favour of Kalshi in a similar case, according to local media reports.
