The online betting market in Argentina continues to grow and is already showing signs of maturity in some aspects. The most recent data gathered by Blask helps to outline an interesting profile of the Argentine bettor, showing everything from the predominant age group to the main products used, motivations for playing and the casino titles that lead public preference.

The survey, updated in October 2025, indicates that the gaming sector in Argentina continues to be strongly driven by young adult users, with well-defined digital behaviours and increasingly diversified consumption within iGaming platforms. At the same time, factors such as entertainment, the search for financial gains and convenience appear as central pillars of this experience.

Young audience dominates the landscape

According to the data, most online bettors in Argentina are concentrated in the 25 to 34 age group, which represents around 35% of the total. Next come users aged between 18 and 24, with 30%, simply confirming the idea that the market is driven by a highly connected audience familiar with apps, digital payments, and real-time sports content consumption.

Participation gradually decreases in the following age groups: 20% of players are between 35 and 44 years old, while only 15% are between 45 and 54. This data and the confirmation that the betting audience is young help to explain the strong presence of channels such as social media and online searches in the acquisition funnel of betting brands.

The survey also analysed the level of risk associated with gambling behaviour. Around 40% of bettors were classified as non-problem gamblers, while 35% are at a low-risk level. Moderate-risk players represent 20%, and only 5% fall into the category of problem gamblers. Despite being a minority, this group continues to be the focus of regulatory attention and responsible gambling initiatives. See the table below.

Middle-income groups predominate among bettors

When it comes to annual income, the profile of Argentine players shows a predominance of middle-income groups. The largest share of users, around 25%, earns between 3 million and 5 million Argentine pesos per year (approximately between US$ 2,160 and US$ 3,600). Another 20% fall within the range of 5 million to 7 million pesos (around US$ 3,600 to US$ 5,040).

Lower income brackets also represent a relevant share: 15% earn between 1.5 million and 3 million pesos (approximately between US$ 1,080 and US$ 2,160), while 8% fall below this level. Higher income segments appear in smaller proportions, suggesting that iGaming in Argentina is a popular and relatively accessible entertainment product. Meanwhile, 11% of respondents preferred not to disclose their income.

Among the factors that lead Argentines to bet on sports online, the desire to earn money appears as the main motivation, cited by half of participants. Shortly afterwards comes the use of betting as a way to pass the time when they are bored, at 40%.

The pleasure of the betting process itself also carries significant weight, at 35%, followed by the search for adrenaline (30%) and the perception of betting as a hobby (25%). Other motivations include playing with friends or family and the anonymity provided by the digital environment.

Considering this data, online betting is still perceived by some users as an opportunity for financial gain. Although this factor is an important driver of interest, experts point out that unrealistic expectations can, in some cases, contribute to risky behaviour.

However, when it comes to casino games, financial motivation continues to lead, being mentioned by 60% of users. Around 40% say they bet to enjoy the process itself – the entertainment – while 35% seek the thrill of the spins, and 30% see games as a way to relax. The convenience of playing at home is also an important factor, cited by 25% of respondents.

Football remains the main driver of betting

In terms of products used on platforms, traditional sports dominate by a wide margin. Approximately 70% of players say they bet on sports such as football and basketball, which comes as no surprise, as these sports are indeed very strong in the region.

Lottery appears as the second most popular product, with 40%, followed by live casino (35%) and instant win games such as slots (30%). Poker and Rummy account for 25%, while esports and virtual sports (match simulations) have a lower level of participation, at 20% and 15% respectively.

Even with the global growth of esports, the data suggests that the Argentine market is still strongly influenced by conventional sports, especially football, which continues to be the main driver of traffic and revenue.

Social media leads brand contact

Another relevant point of the study is the role of marketing channels in the relationship between operators and players. Social media appears as the main point of contact, mentioned by half of users, but the centrality of these platforms in brand building, acquisition and retention within iGaming is nothing new. This prominence does not happen by chance. Platforms such as Instagram, TikTok and X function as spaces for both entertainment and information, where influencers, sports content creators and streamers help to boost operators’ visibility. Moreover, the dynamic and immediate format of social media facilitates the promotion of offers, real-time odds and new products – elements that tend to generate quick engagement.

Online searches come next, at 40%, indicating that the behaviour of Argentine players probably also involves an active research stage before registration. Comparison of bonuses, brand reputation, withdrawal speed, and game variety are among the factors that usually influence this decision. In other words, SEO strategies remain an important area for investment.

Recommendations from friends account for 30%. TV commercials manage to reach 25% of respondents, even in an increasingly digital environment. App notifications and content in sports media outlets complete the list at 20%, showing that the acquisition funnel in the country is multichannel, but clearly digital-oriented. Push notifications, in particular, have the potential to influence the behaviour of already registered users, encouraging returns to the platform, participation in promotions and live betting.

The most accessed games come from a single provider

Among the most popular casino games in Argentina, the absolute dominance of titles from Pragmatic Play stands out. The five most played are:

  • Gates of Olympus
  • Gates of Olympus 1000
  • Sugar Rush 1000
  • Sugar Rush
  • Sweet Bonanza 1000

The success of these slots is linked to factors such as high volatility, frequent bonus features and strong visual appeal. In addition, many of them have gained popularity through live streams and influencer content, which helps to boost demand.

Blask’s data indicates that iGaming in Argentina already shows a relatively consolidated user profile: young, digital, motivated by both financial gains and entertainment, and highly influenced by social media. At the same time, the dominance of certain suppliers and products shows that competition in the market is increasingly driven by branding, user experience, and efficient acquisition strategies. The situation is not dissimilar from neighbouring countries, with Brazil providing a notable example of brand positioning in the iGaming market.
