The iGaming market has been constantly changing. New technologies, regulatory changes and expansion into emerging regions are reshaping the way companies and players interact in this sector. To better understand these movements, we spoke with Daniel Santos, Regional Commercial Director at KodeDice, who currently represents the company in Europe, Africa and Latin America.

In the interview, Daniel brought a strategic vision of the company’s operations and valuable reflections on the future of the market, regulatory challenges and the opportunities that are emerging.

A strategic role across different continents

Daniel’s role at KodeDice is global. He is responsible for expanding the company’s presence in three very different regions: Europe, Africa and Latin America. He also builds strategic partnerships and adapts the company’s solutions to the specific demands of each market.

“Our role is to understand what each operator needs and deliver it in a simple, fast and scalable way. Proximity to the client is essential for us to grow together,” he said. This close look has allowed the company to gain ground in areas where competition is strong, but where there is also enormous growth potential.

What is KodeDice and what is its purpose

KodeDice is part of the Prometteur group, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. The company develops a complete platform for iGaming, which allows any operator to launch and manage an online casino in a practical way. This platform covers both traditional models and more modern options, such as crypto casinos and sweepstakes.

The company also creates tools aimed at affiliates, such as mini-apps on Telegram, live results apps, sportsbooks and APIs for integration with different systems. The idea is: remove any kind of technical barrier and accelerate the growth of partners.

According to Daniel, the main difference between KodeDice and other companies in the sector is flexibility. Instead of offering a rigid solution, KodeDice adapts the platform according to the profile and needs of each operator. This makes the final product more efficient and adjusted to the reality of each client.

When regulation hinders and when it helps

One of the most sensitive points in the iGaming sector is the issue of regulation. Daniel said that there have already been times when the company had to slow down some projects because of unclear or unfeasible rules. The most recent case was in Brazil, where a client abandoned plans to move forward due to licensing requirements and a high tax burden.

But he also brought good examples of regulation. The case of Ontario, in Canada, was mentioned as a model of success. The government created clear rules and fair taxes, which led to 93% of activity migrating to official platforms. The result? Greater revenue, more security for players and operators in a legal position.

Another interesting example comes from Botswana, in Africa, where the government launched the Motshameko O Phepha programme. The initiative relies on educational campaigns that encourage responsible gambling practices, without blocking the growth of the sector.

What to expect from the coming years

Speaking about the future, Daniel says that emerging markets are the ones that present the most opportunities in the short term, especially Africa, Latin America and the United Arab Emirates.

In terms of product, sweepstakes are growing a lot in the United States, as well as sports betting with gamification and solutions designed for mobile devices. “The mobile phone is today the main gateway to iGaming, so everything needs to be designed with this experience first,” he said.

Another inevitable point is the use of artificial intelligence. Today, it still appears as a differentiator, but in a short time, it will be part of everyday life. AI is already being used to personalise the player’s experience and also to automate compliance processes, bringing more security and agility to operators.

When asked where he would like to see KodeDice in five years’ time, Daniel is direct: “At the top of the industry, recognised as one of the global leaders in turnkey iGaming solutions. We are growing with solid steps, and we believe that consistency, innovation and close relationships with clients will take us to that level.”
